Being
the newcomer on a TV series in its second season can be like being the new kid
at school. But model-turned-actor Greg Vaughan says that Shannen Doherty, Holly
Marie Combs and Alyssa Milano, the three stars of the WB series ''Charmed,''
made him feel right at home from day one. ''My first day I was really nervous
because I was thinking, 'I'm going to be working with all these women.' Then it
occurred to me, that's not a bad thing.''
Aside from being handpicked by super-producer Aaron Spelling to star on the
bewitching series, another thrill of Vaughan's life has been getting to work
with one of his childhood crushes. Growing up in Dallas, his only connection to
Tinseltown, besides his love for television and film, was an Alyssa Milano
poster that hung on his wall when he was a teenager. As fate would have it,
Vaughan's role on Charmed has him working very closely with Milano. ''I grew up
watching Alyssa,'' he confides. Vaughan adds that it was a triple thrill for him
not only getting to work with Milano, but Doherty and combs as well.
''I'd seen Holly on 'Picket Fences' and I've worked on 'Beverly Hills 90210', so
meeting Shannen was cool because we had that in common,'' says the 23-year-old
stunner, who got his start modeling for such illustrious fashion icons as
Versace and Armani. ''It's just nice to work with such seasoned veterans.''
As for whether or not Vaughan is going to have a chance to relive any of his
teenage fantasies onscreen with Milano, he's not telling, but he says that
anything is possible. ''All I know is that it's a good role, I like the
character, and I see that I'm not going to die anytime soon.''
